About Silverdarkness

Silverdarkness photo

I have been a serious amateur/semi-pro SLR photographer for nearly 5 decades. Back in the day, of course, it was 35mm negatives, slides, internegs and smelly darkrooms. I converted to digital in 2004 and use a Nikon D750 with a variety of f2.8 lens. In 2016 I converted to the the Sony mirrorless a6500 (and later the Sony a7c) camera system due to it's software, compact form and light weight.

Early on, I photographed nature and landscapes in the mountains of Washington, Oregon, and California. Later, as my engineering profession led me to foreign countries I focused on travel photography. More recently, I shoot urban and small town abstracts until COVID-19 impacts lessen and allow more widespread travel again.

Whenever possible, I use a sturdy tripod. It slows me down and forces me to reexamine the scene.

As any photographer will tell you, it is ALL about the light.
