About Silverdarkness

Silverdarkness photo

I have been a serious amateur photographer for over 5 decades. Back in the day, of course, it was 35mm negatives, slides, internegs and smelly darkrooms. I converted to digital in 2004 and use a Nikon D750 with a variety of f2.8 lens. In 2016 I converted to the Sony mirrorless a6500 (and later the Sony a7RC) camera system due to it's software, compact form, light weight and amazing customizable features.

Early on, I photographed nature and landscapes in the mountains of Washington, Oregon, and California. Later, as my engineering profession led me to foreign countries, I focused on travel photography. When I am not on a photography road trip, I shoot urban and small-town abstracts.

Whenever possible, I use a sturdy tripod. It slows me down and forces me to reexamine the scene.

As any photographer will tell you, it is ALL about the light.
